Writing Articles- Should I Write Short Articles Or Long Articles?

One of the questions that newbies in Internet Marketing often ask is ‘How long should my articles be?’

CLICK HERE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ARTICLE WRITING

This question especially gets asked quite a lot in the Warrior Forum and there is a lot of discussion on whether it would be better to write short 250 word articles just so that the articles generates a higher CTR% or if you should write lengthier articles of about 500 words or more.

One of the most important criteria is to make sure that you provide GOOD VALUE to the readers (apart from doing keyword research, coming up with an enticing title and organizing the article into several short paragraphs). The length of the article is not that important compared to the value you provide.

It’s usually quite hard for you to give that high value in a 250 word article. You are more likely to accomplish that in a 500+ word article.

I highly recommend you to write well researched, high quality engaging articles. If it takes 500 words, it’s fine, if it takes 750 words, that’s fine too and if it takes 1000 words, that’s fine as well.

I usually won’t go over 1000 words and I think you will find very few articles in article directories going over 1000 words. You can always split the content into multiple articles and generate more traffic to your websites.

But even as you strive to provide great value through your articles, don’t be surprised when your CTR% is very low for your best articles. Personally speaking, there have been a number of times when I overdelivered which often does not create the need to click on your links in the resource box.

So you need to be careful in making sure that you give the readers good enticing content that will compel them to click on your resource box links to know more about what you have to offer.

Tips For Better Results From Your Article Writing

There are many marketers who may come up with stats to show their CTR% and how well the 250 word articles work for them. If you are one among them, good for you. However what matters at the end of the day is not the number of visitors to your websites, but the number of leads you capture and the sales you make.

So in other words, your lengthier articles (hopefully they are also the articles that you provide greater value) may have lesser CTR% but may convert higher compared to the 250 word crap articles that you write that may have a higher CTR% but may convert lower.

Moreover if someone were to use your articles on their sites, they are more likely to use the longer ones that provide great value to their readers than the shorter ones.

Please know that you can still write articles of the highest quality and get very few views. That is why it is important for you to do the right keyword research which is a separate topic by itself.

Plus you are faced with the increasing challenge of your article standing out against the slew of text ads that are slapped everywhere around your articles that even scanning the article without being distracted by these ads is impossible.

You almost seem to wonder, who in the right mind would ever read the article without clicking on the ads?

Tips for bloggers to fight writing stress

Blog writing is a unique profession in itself. While some bloggers are only interested to educate their audience through their blogs, a good number of bloggers also use it as a source of earning.

For those who monetize their blogs, still the primary purpose remains the education of audience but optimization of their blogs in important search engines also becomes their priority.

SEO of blog sites is not an easy job and it requires really good content.

The quality of writing can make or break the blog. The pressure of writing excellent content makes writing a very stressful job indeed, which is why so many bloggers complain that content writing is a stressful job.

The fact is that blogging is great fun in itself because you have the complete liberty to play with your words.

But consistently writing on same subjects can sometimes be very stressful.

However, we can fight against our stress to a great extent if we follow three simple tips.

Allot more time to writing!

Never try to produce a lot of content in a short period of time. It is extremely stressful.

Even if you hire a team of content writers, don’t expect them to produce very good quality in a very short time.

By doing this, you force your writers to resort to dishonest ways of meeting deadlines like copying content and sometimes even including fake or made-up information that does not make sense at all.

Both of these can inflict serious damage to your blog website. To avoid finding yourself in such a situation, give your writers ample time to write.

If you are writing content yourself, then be a little gentle with yourself.

You can prepare a rough draft of an article and read it twice or thrice and try to improve it.

When you are not bound by limited time, you feel quite relaxed which ultimately improves your writing.

Take productivity breaks!

No matter what we do, we all need a break from our monotonous routine.

These breaks are even more important for the writers as writing is not a piece of cake.

Sometimes you run short of words and feel that you cannot produce unique content, which is normal for any writer who writes continuously, without enjoying the luxury of a break.

You should make a proper schedule of posting and writing articles on your blog and should add productivity breaks in the schedule every now and then.

It is highly recommended to take a short break after writing every article.

Breaks not only reduce writing stress but also refresh your mind and help you produce good content of high quality.

Productivity breaks also allow you to make better use of your time.

Enjoy writing!

You might have realized by now that blog writing is not easy.

You might not have to be extra genius for writing but it does require hard work and commitment.

It becomes stressful only when you lose interest.

I would say that if blog writing is not your passion, you should not go for it.

Persistence and passion are the two most important things that decide your career in blogging and writing becomes stressful if you lack any one of these qualities.

Blogging can be a lot of fun if you enjoy writing.

Blog writers should go for a walk every now and then to the parks and other open areas to breathe deeply.

This refreshes their brain and reduces their stress.

Writing DIY articles for money

Other two interesting types of paid writing projects are the “DIY” and “Major” projects. When you decide to write such an article you have to make sure that you have enough experience to guide your readers. So it goes without saying that you are to write about things you have already made.

DIY projects are short projects which run usually between 200 and 750 words. Keep this kind of project conversational, imagine that you explain the info to your friend and just write it. You should also present the digital photos of each step (high-resolution photos are welcome). Major projects are more complex projects which can take a person several hours or even days to complete them.

Writing Online? Inspiration?

If you earn a living from writing online, you might find that it is hard to think of anything to write about. It’s all very well being able to have free reign over what you choose to write about, however it can often be harder than you might think to be able to think about something for you to write about.

There are a few things that you could do in order to try and grab some ideas about what you could write about. This article will help you with some of the things that you could do in order to find something that you can write about.

Read newspapers and magazines. If you do this, you’ll learn what’s hot and what’s not. You will learn what kind of things people are talking about, and what kind of things people will enjoy reading about. If you see that there is a particular story that is constantly being covered by a particular genre of media, you might want to try and get an article of your own on that subject, as you already know that there are people who would want to read about that particular topic.Have a look at hot topics on search engines. Most search engines have the facility for you to see what the most discussed posts are on any given day. If you choose topics from these, then you should find that you are able to get a fairly good audience for the things that you want to talk about. The most important thing when you write any article is to know that you’re going to get views on that article, so you would do well to write about things that you know people are talking about.Listen into conversations in public. Whether you’re in a shop or on a train, there are bound to be people there who are talking about things. You never know when you’re going to hear something that will give you instant inspiration, so listen carefully. If you normally listen to music when you’re out and about, I suggest that you stop, as you might be missing out on one of the most inspirational subjects that you have ever heard of.It’s always helpful to keep a note book with you when you’re out of the house. This means that you will be able to write down the titles of any articles that you wish to write, and also means that you won’t forget about it when you get home.  Flag It Spam Adult Content Plagiarism Insufficient Quality Wrong Category Select the Right Category About Writing Autos Books Business Computers Creative Writing Domestic Gaming General Health Internet Movies Music News Offbeat Pets Poetry Recipes Religion Science Short Stories Society Sports Television Travel Women
